Teacher Training

Since 2003, BodyTonic Pilates Gymnasium's Pilates Teacher Training has developed intelligent, creative Pilates teachers who excel at their work. BodyTonic studio owner Jennifer DeLuca received her Pilates certification from Romana Kryzanowska, the renowned protegee of Joseph Pilates. Building upon this classical legacy, the BodyTonic approach is grounded in classical Pilates technique and enhanced by a strong anatomical foundation with an emphasis on the individual needs of each client. BodyTonic is known for the exceptionally high quality of its teachers. Our instructors teach all over the world and all over New York.
In our unique Teacher Training program, you will learn the choreography of
classical Pilates exercises on the Mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Ped-o-pul and Magic Circles. You will study anatomy from a Pilates perspective, explore variations using foam rollers, weights,
physioballs, and therabands, and learn the basics of safe prenatal and postnatal Pilates work. Most importantly, you will develop your own style of putting together a comprehensive Pilates session that is challenging and targeted to the specific needs and goals of your clientele.

The Teacher Training workshops will begin in January 2012, with five consecutive weekends of learning beginner-intermediate choreography on all apparatus. There will then be a short break followed by five additional consecutive weekends of intermediate, advanced and auxiliary equipment
with variations, as well as postpartum and prenatal modifications. Each workshop weekend will include Friday evenings from 6-9pm and Saturdays from 3-8pm. Wednesday evenings from 5-8pm will be a scheduled independent study, practice and test time.

our boutique during your time as an apprentice.
